Below a cut because apparently I’ve been rambling on about my dog woes too much…
Ali’s still not doing well.
She can walk now (yay!) but hasn’t peed since her surgery except for a few drops this morning and this afternoon. She tries to go but just can’t. I brought her back to the vet and they said she doesn’t have an overly full bladder so it doesn’t appear that she’s blocked up.
Normally this would just be something we’d wait and see about but she has had two bladder surgeries in the past few years and has a portosystemic shunt which causes a buildup of uric acid and causes bladder stones (her last surgery removed 24 of them). I’m a worrier to begin with, now even more so.
The vet wants me to watch her over night. If there’s no improvement she’s going to see an internist who will do an ultrasound as a first next step.
I hope this is just me worrying and that she’s just taking a while to bounce back. Oh doggie woes…

Don’t apologize at all for worrying and sharing. Of course you’re scared for her…she’s your furry baby. She’s probably not urinating much because her water intake has probably been very low, but definitely do watch her. Keep us posted <3
